FYI, Newtown’s Flour Drum Will Open For Dinner

If slow and steady wins the race, then Newtown’s Flour Drum’s new dinner menu is raising that trophy and drinking that shooey. Their night-time meals are cooked low and slow, so praise be.

From August, they’ll be running a dinner service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Their dishes look off the hook—slow-cooked delights with mod-Asian interpretations. Hơ about an eight-hour lamb ragu pappardelle with shallot and chilli oil? Perhaps a beef rendang with cardamom-fragrant rice and house-made cumquat relish? Or how about a bowl of BBQ duck ravioli, swimming about with oodles of egg noodles in a duck and shiitake mushroom broth?

Executive chef John Ageletos appears to have read our comfort-food-craving minds and spoken directly to our growling winter appetites. Flour Drum has been building a glowing reputation for their too-good-to-be-true brunches for three years now, so opening for dinner is a much-anticipated move for this end of south King Street.

Keep an eye on their Instagram for more details.

On that drool-worthy note, here are Sydney's best Sunday roasts.
