Just because you’re getting on a big jet plane doesn’t mean you have to give up on your clean living lifestyle. It’s easier than you think to stay healthy while travelling and we’ve teamed up with Sydney Airport to prove it.
Prep the kale.
#1 Take Up Yoga
ICYMI, Lorna Jane Active Living Room has a sleek yoga studio hidden away at T2 Domestic so you can stretch it all out and prep your body before you board. Nailing the seated cat and pigeon poses will keep your blood flowing and release any muscle tension you already have.
#2 Avoid Alcohol
The best way to keep you (and your skin) healthy is to avoid alcohol like the plague. Opt for a fresh to death juice from Joe & The Juice. Their green juices are always a reliable option but the Guardian is jam-packed with turmeric, black pepper, pineapple and carrot so you know it’s doing good things. Oh, and don’t forget to stay hydrated by drinking buckets of water.
#3 Eat Smart
The airport always seems like a good excuse to indulge in a juicy burger and fries and while we’re alllllll about a balanced diet, if you’re trying to stay healthy it’s probs best to opt for something slightly fresher. Lorna Jane’s Nourish Café serves up delicious acai and smoothie bowls, as well as a whole heap of salads, like the farmers market bowl with fresh veggies, feta, spiced nuts and couscous.
#4 Count Your Steps
As per usual, you’ve got to stay active and keep moving if you want to be on the health train. Shopping is one of the easiest ways to hit your 10K steps so hit up Peter Alexander, French Connection, Mimco, Witchery and more—just don’t forget your wallet!
#5 Invest In An Eye Mask
While you’re shopping, keep your eye out for an eye mask. Everyone these days is low on sleep and if you can get some extra Zs on board, you’ll feel (and look) better than ever.
#6 Dress Strategically
Comfort is key when it comes to dressing for the airport and a flight, no matter how short or long. We don’t mean dress like a slob, but we do mean wear unrestrictive clothing and shoes you can actually move swiftly in. After all, you’ve got 10k steps to get!
Follow these steps and you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh AF.
