We may have hit halfway through August but there’s no slowing down with tacos, fried chicken, bourbon whipped cream and chilli (all to be consumed this week). To be honest, we think it’s time to invest in a puffy jacket for an igloo party. Oh yeah, you'll want to read on to find more out about that one.

Monday 20 August

Quayside Comfort at Cruise Bar

Comfort food is our favourite type of food and Cruise Bar is offering us exactly that. You can try telling us that a sandwich can keep you warm but you’re only lying to yourself. Cruise Bar’s Southern American-inspired food and drink menu definitely will with loaded french fries with gravy, fried chicken coated with a rye whiskey-honey sauce and a vanilla pudding with peanut butter, bourbon whipped cream, cookie crumbs, banana and candied bacon, called the Fat Elvis. 10 comfort points to Cruise Bar. AACTA Film and Shorts Fest

Event Cinemas in Bondi Junction is showcasing the Oscars Short Film Program, featuring Oscar-nominated short films as part of a series of events presented by AACTA. If you’re a bit like us and indecisive when it comes to choosing which movie to watch, hit up Bondi Junction for this compilation of the ten best international short films. Jump here for more.

Tuesday 21 August

All-You-Can-Eat Taco Tuesday

Whip out your stretchy pants, Syd, because Bondi Beach’s Panama House is serving endless tacos for a twenty-fiver and we're here for it. The taco menu boasts chicken, fish, pork, duck and kangaroo (if you’re game) tacos and also has a bunch of vegan and vegetarian-friendly picks with chickpea and salsa or smoked mushrooms tacos. To wash down your tasty packs, you'll want to order up a margarita or a cocktail of tequila, hibiscus, lime-oil and fresh lime juice because hey, it's Taco Tuesday after all. Head here for more.

Igloos on the Pier

It's the kinda thing you see on Instagram and in magazines, Pier One has ACTUAL igloos you can party inside. But, that is not all. The igloos are harbourfront and (brace yourself) one has a hot tub. You will be treated to cocktails, bubbles and snacks from a specially-made menu by Pier One. When hiring the real MVP igloo (obviously the one with the hot tub), you also get fluffy robes, slippers and a change room. The iggies are leaving next week so book asap!

Happy Hour Steam Mill Lane Sessions

Steam Mill Lane has got you covered for a Wednesday night with cheap drinks, coffee and food. We’re talking $10 spritz, $5 draft beers and house wines from Belle’s Hot Chicken, and $10 poke bowls from Fishbowl.
