Don’t waste the last days of summer, we’ve got heaps of things to do in Sydney this weekend.

The last weekend of summer is upon us, so whether you want to drown your sorrows at a cocktail masterclass or finally honour your New Year resolutions to start that business or hit the gym, we have got you covered with all the fun things to do in Sydney this weekend. Go on, get out there and enjoy the last of the summer sun!

Thursday 25th

Willie The Boatman’s Thirsty Birthday Bash

Willie the Boatman is officially turning one and to celebrate, Keg & Brew are throwing open their doors and popping six of their best creative beers on tap. Specifically, they will feature their limited edition Bubbles Birthday Champagne Ale alongside five of their top sellers; the Bulger ESB, Albo Corn Ale, Black Bunny Dark Ale, Kolsch and Trailer Pale Ale. Don’t worry, the fun wont stop at the bar, since there will also be a kissing booth (pucker up) and giveaways as well as birthday cupcakes.

Native Australian & Foraged Cocktail Masterclass with Trolley'd

Known for their informative (and fun) masterclasses, Williams Sonoma is hosting a cocktail masterclass with the guys behind portable bar company, Trolley’d. You will learn how to craft tasty, tasty cocktails from sustainable foraged local produce and native Australian ingredients so you can impress your friends with your mad cocktail shakin’ skills at your next party.

The Standard Store warehouse sale

Replenish that wardrobe for cheap with The Standard Store’s warehouse sale happening in Paddington this Thursday to Saturday. With items for only 10 dollarydoos, you can stock up on brands like Kitsune, Carven, PAM, and Objects Without Meaning and have money leftover for a victory coffee (depending on how much you spend, though).

New Beginnings Fair

Do you have a golden business idea that you are SURE would be a hit, if only you knew how to make it a reality? Well, the New Beginnings Fair may just be what you’ve been waiting for. With talks by inspiring humans such as Lisa Messenger (Collective Hub) and the fabulous women behind Frank Body as well as workshops in the fun stuff (social media and branding) and the important stuff (bookkeeping and business planning), you will be bursting with inspiration. Prices are super reasonable, starting at only $35. So get on that.

Heaps Gay & The Bearded Tit pop-up patio

If you’re looking for things to do in Sydney that involve a little bit of pre-Mardi Gras partying, popular Redfern bar The Bearded Tit and Heaps Gay are launching their pop up patio bar on the rooftop of the Captain Cook Hotel in Darlinghurst. Running for six nights only, throughout Mardi Gras season, the bar will be themed like an Aussie caravan style patio, complete with sunset views and kitsch vibes. There will be music, art, community and a whole lotta lovin’. This Friday’s line-up includes DJs Charlie Villas and Lorna Clarkson as well as performances by Lillian Starr and Deep Sea Astronauts.

The Sydney Morning Herald Cellar Door

When the clock strikes five this Friday, it's officially wine o'clock. Head down to Hyde Park this Friday, Saturday and Sunday to taste wines from a range of wineries from Mudgee, Hunter Valley and Orange with The Sydney Morning Herald Cellar Door. Alongside the beautiful wines on offer, there'll also be delicious food from the region's best restaurants and growers. If you're in the mood for cheese (um, who isn't?) head to the Castello Cheese Bar to have your wine matched with some complimentary cheese. Cheers!

Saturday 27th

One Hot Yoga & Pilates Opening Weekend

This weekend One Hot Yoga and Pilates are hosting free classes to celebrate their grand opening. Yep, free classes! The space itself is gorgeous and there is something for all workout styles, so whether you prefer a slow and flowing hot yoga session or an intense Pilates reformer workout, you will not be disappointed. Bacon Brewfest

Finally the time has come when bacon and beer combine their powers to give us the festival we have all be waiting for! There’ll be Burgers by Josh who promises his most ‘diabolic, swine-licious (we’re listening) creation yet’ along with smoky bacon brews from Rocks Brewing and, because gelato goes with everything, the team from N2 gelato will be serving up their crazy bacon gelato. Mmmmmm bacon.

Hey Geronimo Jack Daniels Future Legends

To mark the release of their debut album Crashing Into The Sun, Hey Geronimo are attempting to do what no band before them has done. Instead of spending weeks touring Australia, they have decided to perform ten gigs at ten separate locations around Sydney in only one day. From Manly to Chippendale, Petersham to Kings Cross, it could be a terrible idea but we think it’s bloody brilliant. More details, here.

Kings Cross Festival Pop-up Gallery

As part of the King Cross Festival pop-up gallery series, local creatives Dolan and Juliette are offering you a glimpse into their exhibition, Wolf & Kitten before it opens to the public on Sunday. Their art is a melding of music and gritty visuals, showcased in all of its degradation and glory. So get your dose of contemporary art culture between 4pm - 5pm before heading to the Llankelly Place Long Table to wind down with Young Henrys beer and street food from Waterman’s Lobster Co and Osaka Bar to name only two.

Food Matters Live

By this point, our New Year’s resolution to become fitter and healthier in 2016 is a long forgotten memory. So to kick your way back on track and get that green juice glow, why not head along to Food Matters Live event this Saturday? The guys behind documentaries Food Matters and Hungry for Change are teaming up with health and wellness heavyweights Jon Gabriel, Libby Weaver and Lee Holmes for a full day of natural weight loss solutions and quick tips for increased health and vitality. Sunday 28th 

The Sydney Skinny

In a bid to shine a light on positivity and kindness, The Sydney Skinny is hosting their annual ocean swim event to promote closing the door on the pressures and negativity in your world and embracing self-belief and joy. With 900m and 300m options, the swim will take place in one of Sydney’s hidden gems this Sunday at Middle Head National Park. This is not a race, but instead it’s an opportunity to conquer a challenge and bask in the pride and positive vibes that come with this huge feat. Register your place at their website.

Greek Festival of Sydney

Is there any better way to cap off a weekend than with hands filled with gyros and the sweet croon of a bouzouki by The Harbour? Not if you love Greek food as much as we do. This weekend will see the Greek Festival of Sydney descend on Darling Harbour and there will be live music with Alkinoos Ioannides as the headline act, as well as cultural dancing and stalls serving authentic Greek food. We’ll meet you by the gyros stall!
