13 Awesome Things To Do This Weekend In Sydney

We’ve seen some serious highs and lows this week, with enough downpour to drown our souls (and totally write off our fave kicks), the occasional 'gram-worthy rainbow because the skies simply can’t make up their damn mind and a royal baby announcement on our very own home turf. 

As for the glorious weekend, we have an epic line up of goodness for you. Strap in and prepare yourselves for a lively and oh-so-fashionable street festival, an eight-course pasta feast, plenty of bubbles and the beginning of our favourite exhibition along the coast. 

Diaries at the ready, this is everything you should be doing this weekend in Sydney.

All Weekend

Night Noodle Markets

This weekend marks the last few days of all the scoffing and slurping that’s been happening down at Hyde Park. If you haven’t made it to this glorious food fest yet, you need to go, like, now. The grub oasis that is Good Food’s Night Noodle Markets is chockablock full of Asian inspired doughnuts, spicy noodles and delicious tipples. In terms of what you should be eating, head here

Sculpture by The Sea 

Our favourite coastal exhibition is kicking off this weekend, and you’re going to want to get your finest joggers on and your grams at the ready. The opening ceremony extravaganza will be held on Friday evening with Aboriginal rock engravings of a whale shark on Bondi headland being illuminated by fire from 7pm (yep, that’s pretty lit) and the awesome artworks will be sticking around for a stunning three weeks. Jog on folks, it’s the 22nd year of this baby and we have a feeling it’s going to be a pearler. For more info, head here

A Celebration of Pasta

Eight pasta dishes. One sitting. These guys don’t mess around and we’re into it. Capriccio Restaurant is serving up a heap of pasta with specialities from Italy’s North to its deep South. Think tagliatelle, squid ink spaghetti, nettle gnocchi and pumpkin ravioli. Match this deliciousness with a glass of regional Italian wine or a cocktail of your choice. You’re welcome. Dead Studios Warehouse Sale

Dead Studios are having an epic warehouse sale over four glorious days and you’re invited to get around their awesome samples and past season stock. You’ve seen these minimalist and oh-so-trendy pieces on the Iconic, at General Pants, Stylerunner and of course on Queen Kylie Jenner, and now they’ve got to make room for their Summer pieces so everything must go. Sunrise yoga at Sydney Opera House

Salute the sun on the Sydney Opera House’s world-famous steps, now that’s a pretty cool way to kick of the weekend. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a beginner, this class caters to everyone so get stretching team. For tickets, head here

Thursday 18 October

Champagne Dinner at the Sofitel

Who’s feeling like getting their fancy pants on with some serious bubbly this Thursday? Silly question. The Atelier at the Sofitel is hosting an indulgent four-course dinner matched with handpicked cuvees. The menu is designed by executive chef, Eric Costille to compliment the chardonnay grapes from champagne house, Perrier-Jouet. Get cheers’ing by booking here

Hive Baha Comedy Night 

Ersko’s Hive Bar will be bringing us all the LOL’s this Thursday with some awesome Aussie comedians whipping out their new material. Get ready to laugh yourself silly and stuff yourselves with cheeseburgers for just six buckaroos and awesome drink specials. On the down low, there may just be a drop-in act as well. Friday 19 October

The Q Station Sleepover

The spookiest of spooky sleepovers is back and it’s more darn freaky than ever. This one isn’t for the faint-hearted, it’s called the Spirit Searching Sleepover and it’s all about investigating all the paranormal mysteries of Q Station. Huddled within Quarantine’s hospital precinct, this lonely, haunted spot seems the ultimate place for a pyjama party! For more info, head here

Saturday 20 October 

Bottomless Brunch on Sydney Harbour 

Don your finest white attire and get ready to set sail on Sydney Harbour with this ultra fab champagne brunch. There will be 2.5 hours of flowing bubbly, mega stunning views of the harbour, live entertainment and a delicious brunch on the water with old and new friends. William Street Festival 

It’s a street well known for its next level boutiques, funky bars and eateries and this weekend, William Street will be closed-off for a fun-filled day of festivities. We’re talking awesome chow, shopping and live entertainment all day long and an Open-Air Cinema in the evening. For more information, click here

Unlimited dumpling feast at Barangaroo 

A weekend wouldn’t be complete without some sort of all-you-can-eat situation, and this just happens to be a damn good one. Thanks to the legends at Old Town Hong Kong for providing some seriously juicy morsels and some equally delicious surroundings this weekend. We’re talking alllllll the prawn dumplings and BBQ pork buns for a glorious 90-minute feast. That’s one helluva bun workout but someone’s gotta do it. Powerbomb Comedy Festival

This weekend boasts an epic lineup of funny guys and gals at Powerbomb after a packed out show last Saturday. With three shows boasting three hilarious award-winning comedians, you’re bound to have a good ole’ laff. To book tickets, chuckle your way over here.

Sunday 21 October 

Wellness Walk for Mental Health Month 

More than 1,500 Sydneysiders are stepping out this weekend to help bridge the gap between stigma and understanding of mental health in this epic walk. There are two separate routes that start and finish at Government House, one fit for the Cathy Freeman’s of the world as well as one for those who aren’t total fitness fanatics, this one is all about the cause. There will be warm-up activities with former NRL player Dan Hunt, entertainment and of course, a sausage sizzle. To register, jog on over here
