Wear Your Art On Your Sleeve With The Ten Pieces X Jamie Preisz Collab

Sydney painter and Archibald Prize star Jamie Preisz has that sort of irreverent, laidback style that’s pretty hard to imitate. It’s a look he calls “art slob chic”: you know, paint-splattered jeans, rose coloured sunglasses, and a little vintage Gucci too.

Now, the renegade art rock star has lent his style to Ten Pieces.

The Bondi-based streetwear label is the creative genius of Icebergs and The Dolphin owner and fashion legend Maurice Terzini—and this week the brand has dropped a set of sleeveless hoodies and tees branded with some of Preisz’s recent work.

There are also tote bags, shorts and an epic emerald green trench emblazoned with a window of yellow daisies.

Torn from his recent exhibition, Hold On you can literally wear some art on your sleeve with Preisz's soon-to-be iconic hand motif clutching bananas or skulls, and dripping in paint.

When we caught up with Jamie earlier this month, he explained his fascination with hands as being inspired by M.C Escher's Drawing Hands.

"The hand to me has always been so expressive and every subject in the show is a musician or artist of some kind. [Every] person's identity and livelihood revolves around their hands, much like mine," he said.

You can snap up the Ten Pieces x Jamie Preisz collectable, wearable collab at the Double Rainbouu x Ten Pieces pop-up store until January.

In the meantime, check out all the best sneakers dropping this December.
