This week, we've hit the actual Mother Lode of binge-worthy antics so settle in, you're in for a good one. To fuel your endless appetite for true-crime is the brand new doco-series The Innocent Man (dubbed an even more intense Making A Murderer), one of the most awarded movies of the year ROMA will hit Netflix just before the weekend and Gucci Mane is back from his hiatus with an 18-track album you'll have on repeat.

Sit back and get comfy, you’re in for a solid binge session.

TV Show

The Innocent Man

The six-part docoseries is based on John Grisham’s 2006 book The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town and includes actual interviews with family members and friends, confession tapes and recreations to tale two killings that happened in Oklahoma during the 1980s. The documentary delves into the lives of four men who were allegedly wrongfully convicted for these murders and looks at a bunch of other facets of the controversial case too like the corruption of the US judicial system, the impact of incarceration and life on death row. The series kicks off December 14.

Movie

Roma

This one has pretty much been dubbed the “Movie of the year”. ROMA is at the head of the pack as a strong Oscar contender and has been inundated with a sling of US critics’ awards as the most personal project to date from Academy Award-winning director and writer Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien). ROMA follows Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a young domestic worker for a family in the middle-class neighborhood of Roma in Mexico City. Delivering an artful love letter to the women who raised him, Cuarón draws on his own childhood to create a vivid and emotional portrait of domestic strife and social hierarchy among political turmoil of the 1970s. ROMA will be available in theaters and on Netflix December 14.

Music

Gucci Mane: Evil Genius

Gucci Mane’s latest line-up of tunes is riddled with some of his very best collabs; Quavo, Migos, and 21 Savage. The entirety of Evil Genius (in which critics are saying is an uncharacteristically ‘safe’ album) is a mass reflection since his time out of jail. There’s no doubt Mane has been through the wringer but this 18-track piece of music gold is an honest and effortless introspection and we’re big fans. Warning, you’ll have Wake Up In The Sky (Mane's joint work with Bruno Mars and Kodak Black) on repeat for the next few weeks. Head here for the entire album.

Book

Cassandra Clare: Queen Of Air And Darkness, Dark Artifices

Bestselling author Cassandra Clare is one of the world’s most prolific and well-loved fantasy writers, famous for her Shadowhunters series. Clare returns to our bookshelves with Queen of Air and Darkness, the last of the Dark Artifices trilogy. In this thrilling conclusion, The Clave is on the brink of civil war and warlocks are being wiped out by a plague. Meanwhile, doomed lovers Emma and Julian are trying to save the Shadowhunter world from a parabati curse, before it destroys them all. Queen of Air and Darkness: Dark Artifices hits stores December 4th.

PODCASTS

Serial

Serial season three is here and get ready to mix things up from their trademark self-contained investigative stories co-produced by Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder (who also brought us S-Town). The next stretch of audio-magic brings Cleveland’s criminal justice system to the forefront, and shines a light on a number of different cases. What makes this next phase of Serial super exciting is the ridiculous amount of access the producers were granted; recordings from courtrooms, judges’ chambers and attorney offices. The team spent an entire year inside the criminal courts in Cleveland so you better believe you’ll get to hear everything that really happens on the inside.

APPS

Florence

For those that like to tap into your best-relaxed self (who doesn’t?), Florence is an interactive novel from Melbourne-based designers, that’s filled with pleasant everyday experiences and even, all the feels that come with falling in love. From the lead designer of Monument Valley, if you’re a fan of comics, you’re probably going to become very addicted. The winner of an Apple Design Award at the Worldwide Developer Conference, you’ll be swiping your way to more relaxed vibes in no time. For more on this one, head here.

MUSIC

Sticky Fingers: Cool And Calm

Not necessarily a binge, however you will absolutely have this one on repeat (and when it comes to music that’s essentially the same thing). Sticky Fingers just dropped their latest, cruisey tune, ‘Cool And Calm’ and that’s exactly how you’ll feel when you play this one. Alongside this win, these Aussie guys have shot an 8mm music video flaring up all the vintage vibes and as always, it’s pure greatness. Is this a sneaky drop from an album in the pipeline? If so, you heard it here first.
