Poised to release the world’s first completely personalised sheet face mask later this year, Neutrogena’s MaskiD app is shaping up to be the beauty launch of 2019.
Jumping on the mammoth personalisation trend seen everywhere in 2018, the beauty giant unveiled its latest tech creation at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. And it’s a game-changer…
Combining the latest micro 3-D printing (which the brand's 2018 product launch, Skin360 uses), facial recognition and product personalisation technologies, MaskiD gives users the ability to fully customise individual face masks using just your smartphone. You simply download the app, take a selfie, and your custom mask will be delivered straight to your door.
But there’s more to it…
You can also choose up to six different facial areas to customise so that your face mask is constructed based on your skin concerns. Hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and niacinamide are just a few of the ingredients you can select. (The mask is even colour-coded to show you where your chosen ingredients will work on your face.)
Arguably the best part of Neutrogena’s MaskiD, however is that it scans your facial proportions, meaning your face mask is customised to your face shape. Meaning no more ill-fitting sheet masks. Ever.
While this little gem isn’t set for release until later in the year (approx. spring 2019), you can be certain that a million copycats are set to follow.
