ICYMI, February is the month you up your culture game. Just when we thought our iCal was filled with enough epic arts events, the Art Gallery of NSW has gone and done it again.
French national treasure, The Lady and the Unicorn, is considered in the art world to be the ‘Mona Lisa of the Middle Ages’, and it’s headed to Sydney this month. Direct from the Musée national du Moyen Âge in Paris, you can save yourself the plane ticket and see this masterpiece IRL down under for the first time ever.
Expect six large scale tapestries, circa 1500, depicting a fantastical world with a lady (obvs), unicorn (yeah, yeah), lions, and thousands of flowers. The works represent the senses, and our soul’s desires, and you might even recognise them from the walls of Gryffindor house. See, you’re totally all over this art game.
