Brace yourself, nature nerds. You know that recurring dream where you and David Attenborough become friends and have adventures like The Wild Thornberrys? It’s about to come true...
Well not really, but there IS a live concert series of the new Planet Earth II coming to Australia. So you know, swings and roundabouts.
If you haven’t seen Planet Earth II yet, this is a good way to do it. Narrated by Sir David himself, with an awesome score from the legend Hanz Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception) it’s been touted as the greatest piece of natural filmmaking in history.
Like the recent Harry Potter and Star Wars concerts, four of Australia’s best orchestras will play the score while you watch the series on the big screen. Unfortunately, David Attenborough couldn’t make it, but we have the next best thing: Eric Bana.
Planet Earth II will tour ‘round the country from 27 April to 4 May, visiting Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney (sorry, Adelaide). You can grab tickets from next week.
When Is It?
April 27 – Perth Arena (with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra) April 29 – Plenary, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (with the Melbourne Pops Orchestra) May 1 – Brisbane Entertainment Centre (with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra) May 4 – International Convention Centre, Sydney (with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra).
