Stuck for things to do on your weeknights or not sure how to start planning your weekend? Well, you shouldn’t be, because we’re here to let you know that there’s plenty going on in Sydney with restaurants, bars, events, and markets thriving once again in this beautiful city of ours.

So, to help you live your best Sydney life, we’ve teamed up with DiDi to serve up all the best things to do in and around your hood. Plus, you can get around safely with DiDi Hours, offering riders 50 per cent off fares from 4 to 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in August. So you can galavant around the city without breaking the bank.

Channel Your Inner Augustus Gloop At This High Tea

If you don't get the reference, we are referring to chocolate—and lots of it—because Kitchens on Kent at The Langham hotel is serving up a seriously dreamy chocolate high tea. Yep, an afternoon tea dedicated to chocolate. The menu still includes your classic savoury sensations and finger sandwiches, but of course, the highlight is their decadent range of homemade pastries and tea cakes. These sweets all feature fancy French chocolate house Valrhona’s finest cacao varieties including dark chocolate flourless cake, hazelnut praline chocolate tart, and double chocolate cheesecake. Oh, and did we mention you can make the afternoon tea bottomless? You know you’ll want to, so ditch the designated driver duties and leave the fuss of transport to DiDi. It’s a resounding yes from us. Bookings are essential.

Dine Where The Wild Things Are

Animal lovers, get pumped because WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo in Darling Harbour is opening its doors after hours with a one-of-a-kind dining experience. After a 45-minute private tour of all the animals, including Kangaroo Walkabout and Kakadu Gorge, you’ll head to the koala rooftop to get up close and personal with some cuddly joeys. After the endorphin-inducing cuddling, it’s all about the big banquet feast, complete with three courses and a luxe two-hour drinks package. Think: over the top antipasto platters followed by roast chicken with corn, leek and pea risotto; baked lamb rump with roast beetroot and smoked garlic potatoes; or wild mushroom risotto with leek, corn, pea and aged parmesan cheese. And yes, save room for dessert. Team all of that with the lush rainforest setting and you’re set for a magical evening. For more information and to book a session, head here.

Sip Bottomless Espresso Martinis

Quick Brown Fox is upping their brunch game with a brand new menu and daily bottomless booze sessions to match. This isn’t your average brunch menu, with the new eats featuring tasty sensations like buffalo ricotta gnudi (gnocchi-like dumplings made with cheese), a roast chicken sandwich, and a roast cauliflower cheese toastie, dripping in mozzarella and parmesan. The best part? You can tack on 90-minutes of free-pour espresso martinis, bloody marys or Aperol spritz for just $35 per person. And because we’ve evolved beyond stereotyping brunch strictly to Sundays, you’ll be pleased to know Quick Brown Fox’s bottomless sessions are available to book from 8am to 11am any day of the week. Book your spot here.

Shop For Artisanal Treats

The Carriageworks Farmers Markets are gracing Sydney shoppers once again, and it’s safe to say we can’t wait to be back supporting the best growers and producers in NSW. Get ready for all of your old faves along with some new treasures to try including Pepe Saya's chantilly mascarpone and smoked butter, vegan coconut, or decadent chocolate crumpets from Crumpets by Merna, black winter truffles from Hartley Truffles and creamy buffalo mozzarella from Vannella Cheese. Caffeine addicts can rest easy as there'll also be coffee from the legends at Single O, hand sanitiser by Two Good Co. and reusable cloth face masks by Roasters with Altitude and Big Bite Eco. In line with COVID-19 restrictions, there will be strict shop-and-go service operating across the weekend and capacity limits will be in place. More info on Carriageworks' COVID safety is here. And more on the markets and installations can be found here

Let The Belly Laughs Ensue

Has 2020 left you in need of some serious LOLs? Same here. Well, get ready because The Chippo Hotel has recently unveiled their brand new, all-female Yeah The Girls Comedy night. Boasting an epic line-up of your favourite, local female talent including Christina Zheng and Bonnie Tangey you can expect good times, giggles, and great food and drinks. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, but spots are limited due to that all-important social distancing. More details are here

Listen To Smooth Jazz And Sip On Negorinis

The Sunday Negroni is back and we couldn’t be happier about it. Not only is the Square’s at Moya’s Juniper Lounge serving up mouth-watering Negronis for just $10 a pop, but they’ll also be gracing our eardrums with a live band playing the sweet sound of jazz music from 6pm. All that’s left to do is jiggle and jive your Sunday blues away with a delicious Negroni in hand. More info is here
