I think it’s safe to assume we’ve all done a few lost little loops around Market City’s food court in our time. And guys, what was once a bit rough and ready (in a great way) is about to get a little bit of extra sparkle and shine. This little corner of Sydney will soon be home to eight new stellar Asian eateries with a brand spankin’ new name to boot: 1909 Dining Precinct.
1909 will sit on the third floor of Market City and the first restaurant to open is Mr Meng Chongqing Gourmet, which is low-key part of the Chinese noodle empire by the host of If You Are The One (that’s Meng Fei for those of you playing at home). Expect a variety of their top dishes including chongqing spicy noodles with peas and pork mince, and its signature deep fried spring rolls too.
Other eateries to open are YAYOI Japanese Teishoku, a new artisanal Korean BBQ restaurant (we didn’t know it was a thing either but there you go), Kogi, slinging marinated meats with banchan and soju, plus a Chinese eatery called Beijing Impression.
And that’s not even everything, guys—we’re so ready to feast at this spot. The fresh AF new Market City is due to reopen, well, today so get on down there STAT.
Meanwhile, over at Green Square, they're building a new aquatic centre.
