Gone are the days of wanderlusting all things Yayoi Kusama. Once upon a time, us Aussies were left to our pure imagination to envision what it would be like to get our almost-kaleidoscopic lens on and make our way through one of Kusama’s infinity rooms. Well, wanderlust no more, because one of these installations is coming Down Under and big news, it’s bloody here to stay.
You can thank the National Art Gallery of Australia (ie. Canberra) for this one because these dudes have acquired Yayoi Kusama’s infinity room, The Spirits of the Pumpkins Descended Into The Heavens 2015 which means you’ll soon be able to live the crazy polka-dot life your inner art-nerd was born to live.
The Spirit of the Pumpkins Descended into the Heavens is an immersive installation where you’ll get to peer into a world of endless reflection as distorted yellow pumpkins with black dots are also endlessly reflected into mirrors.
Stay tuned because the actual opening date is yet to be released but we can confirm you’ll be frolicking among the pumpkins no later than December this year.
